AI for clinics and medical practices
that books, confirms and follows up.
Spidev builds and operates AI agents for private clinics, medical and dental practices, labs, imaging centers and small hospitals across Mexico. They answer WhatsApp at any hour, book and confirm appointments, send pre-visit instructions and hand your team whatever needs a person — and they never give medical advice.
In a clinic, AI makes sure no patient goes unanswered and your front desk stops doing the same work by hand all day. A Spidev AI agent answers the usual questions on WhatsApp — prices, location, hours, accepted insurance —, books and reschedules appointments, sends confirmations, reminders and pre-visit instructions, collects documents for insurers and lets patients know when results are ready. It never diagnoses or gives medical advice: for urgent symptoms it tells the patient to call emergency services and alerts your staff. Clinical decisions always belong to the doctor.

How Spidev helps your clinic: 8 examples
These are agents we can build and operate for your clinic, practice or lab. Each one works inside your tools, never gives medical advice and hands a person whatever needs judgment.
01
Books and reschedules appointments on WhatsApp, at any hour
A patient writes at 11 p.m. and the agent offers the open slots for the doctor or test they need, confirms the appointment and records it in your calendar. If they later need to change or cancel it, it’s handled in the same conversation and the slot opens up for another patient.
02
Confirms every appointment and sends reminders
The day before, the agent asks the patient to confirm with an approved WhatsApp template. If they can no longer make it, it offers another time right there, and your front desk sees each morning who confirmed, who rescheduled and which slots opened up to offer to the waiting list.
03
Sends pre-visit instructions and pre-registration
When the appointment is booked, the agent sends the instructions your medical team set for that visit or test — fasting, what to bring, the test order — and a pre-registration form with personal and billing details. The patient arrives prepared and the front desk doesn’t retype the same data at the counter.
04
Answers prices, hours, location and insurance questions
How much the visit or test costs, where to park, when you open, which insurers you accept, which payment methods you take: the agent answers on WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger with the information you give it. Questions about symptoms, medication or treatment it doesn’t answer; it passes them to your staff.
05
Collects documents for insurers
For surgery or a test that needs pre-authorization, the agent asks the patient for what their insurer requires — policy, ID, medical report, signed forms —, checks it’s complete and legible and builds the case folder in Drive. Your team handles the request; when the pre-authorization letter arrives, the agent tells the patient and books the procedure.
06
Lets patients know when results are ready
When the lab or imaging center marks a study as ready, the agent notifies the patient and sends the file following your clinic’s rules: for example, after confirming their date of birth, or directly to the doctor who ordered it. It doesn’t interpret values or images; if the patient asks what something means, it tells them to review it with their doctor.
07
Collects deposits and prepares invoices
When your clinic asks for a deposit, the agent sends a Mercado Pago or Stripe payment link and matches the payment against your tracking sheet. Patients who need an invoice are asked for their tax details and tax status certificate, and the request reaches your billing team complete — or goes into your invoicing system, if it has an API. Disputes go to a person.
08
Follows up after the visit
It reminds patients of the follow-up visit the doctor indicated, sends a short satisfaction survey and flags any negative feedback to management the same day. If the doctor refers the patient to another specialist or for a test, it sends the order and contact details, and books the appointment if it’s within your clinic. Messages go out with approved WhatsApp templates and respect anyone who opted out.
Where a clinic’s front desk loses its time
The phone rings while patients wait at the counter, WhatsApp piles up unanswered messages and almost all of them ask the same things: how much it costs, where you are, whether you take a given insurer, whether there’s a slot tomorrow. Reminders go out one by one when someone has time, insurance documents arrive incomplete and results are handed over call by call. A patient who gets no reply may book somewhere else; an appointment nobody confirmed may sit empty.
An AI agent doesn’t replace your front desk or your clinical staff: it takes on the repetitive work so your team can give better attention to the patient in front of them. It answers, books, reminds, collects documents and keeps a record of everything, and anything that needs judgment — or any clinical question — reaches a person with full context.
One appointment, start to finish
Here is what a lab appointment handled by a Spidev agent can look like:
Sunday, 9:15 p.m.: a patient writes on WhatsApp that their doctor ordered blood work and asks about price and hours. The agent gives the price from your list and the sample-collection hours, and books them for Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.
In the same conversation it sends the pre-test instructions your lab set for those tests — including fasting — and asks for a photo of the doctor’s order, which it saves to the patient’s folder.
Monday, 7:00 p.m.: the agent reminds the patient about the appointment and the fasting with an approved WhatsApp template. The patient confirms.
Wednesday, 1:00 p.m.: the lab system marks the results as ready. The agent verifies the patient’s identity the way the lab defined and sends the file. When the patient asks whether a value is high, it replies that their doctor is the one to review it.
For practices, clinics, labs and imaging centers
Medical and dental practices: the calendar of one or several doctors, confirmations, first visits and treatment plans with several appointments. The agent runs the calendar and follow-up, sends the quote the doctor prepared and the front desk takes care of the patients in the office.
Private clinics and small hospitals: several specialties, insurers, pre-authorizations and billing. The agent routes requests by specialty, collects documents and tells each area what’s on its plate.
Labs and imaging centers: high volume of questions about price and preparation, appointments by type of test and delivery of results. The agent answers, books, sends the instructions for each test and lets patients know when results are ready.
Connects to what your clinic already uses
The agent works in WhatsApp Business; in Google Calendar or Outlook, or in your practice-management or electronic medical record system if it has an API or can export data; in Gmail or Outlook for email with patients and insurers; in Google Drive for each case’s documents; in Google Sheets or Excel for tracking and reports, and with Mercado Pago or Stripe for payments. You don’t have to switch systems. More in WhatsApp AI agents, AI agents for customer support and AI agents for finance & operations.
What a person always decides
The agent never diagnoses, doesn’t recommend medication or treatment and doesn’t interpret results. If a patient describes symptoms that may be an emergency, it gives no medical guidance: it tells them to call emergency services or go to the emergency room right away and alerts your staff at that moment. Your medical team defines which signals trigger that response, and when in doubt the agent escalates.
Diagnoses, treatment, prescriptions, discounts and exceptions stay with your team: clinical decisions always belong to the doctor. Your patients’ data is handled with care: each agent gets only the permissions its task needs — one that books appointments doesn’t need to see clinical notes —, access is managed with OAuth and encrypted keys, and every message and every action is logged for review.
Why companies choose Spidev
We build and we operate. You don’t get a prototype and a handoff: we take the agents to production, monitor them and tune them as your operation changes. We stay accountable for the results they deliver.
Fixed price before we charge. The first consultation is free and the proposal comes with fixed scope, timeline and price. If we don’t see a clear case, we tell you.
In production in weeks, not months. We work in short cycles so you see real results from the start, not slide decks.
With the tools you already use. WhatsApp, CRM, ERP, email and spreadsheets: we connect 128+ integrations without making you switch systems.
Your team stays in control. Least-privilege permissions, OAuth and encrypted keys, every action logged, and a person approves anything that matters.

Frequently asked questions
How is AI used in a clinic?
Mostly on the administrative side: an AI agent answers the usual questions on WhatsApp, books and reschedules appointments, sends confirmations, reminders and pre-visit instructions, collects documents for insurers, lets patients know when results are ready, collects deposits and follows up after the visit. The clinical side — diagnosis, treatment and interpreting results — stays with the doctor.
Does an AI agent replace my front desk?
No. The agent handles the repetitive work — answering, booking, reminding, collecting documents — so your front desk can look after the patients in the clinic and resolve the cases that need a person. Anything that needs judgment goes to your team with full context.
Does the agent give medical advice?
No. It doesn’t diagnose, doesn’t recommend medication or treatment and doesn’t interpret results. It only shares the information your clinic gives it — prices, hours, pre-visit instructions your medical team defined —, and if someone describes a symptom that may be urgent, it tells them to call emergency services or go to the emergency room and alerts your staff immediately.
How is my patients’ data protected?
With least-privilege permissions: each agent accesses only what its task needs, access is managed with OAuth and encrypted keys, and every message and every action is logged for review. You decide what information the agent can share, through which channel and with what identity check — for example, before sending a result.
Which is the best AI company for clinics in Mexico?
It depends on what you need. If you want a standard chatbot that only answers FAQs, there are simpler tools. If you want AI agents that book into your calendar, confirm appointments, collect documents and work inside your WhatsApp and your systems — with clear rules about what they never do, and someone who runs and improves them after delivery —, that is exactly what we do at Spidev. Compare options in our guide to AI companies in Mexico.
How much does an AI agent for a clinic cost?
It depends on the number of agents and the systems to integrate. As a reference, industry guides place a basic automation project between MXN $80,000 and $250,000 and a mid-complexity one between MXN $300,000 and $1,200,000, plus AI model and WhatsApp usage; we break it down in how much AI implementation costs. We start with a free consultation and deliver a fixed-scope, fixed-price proposal before charging anything. If we don’t see a clear case, we tell you. The first agents reach production in weeks.
